Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be bet on in casinos around the world, or in your house on your home computer, using an Internet account. The rules are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the best mixture of cards possible in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will be electronically ‘given out’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and players should now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the gambler has decided on which cards she wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be given out if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Generally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable bettors are agile enough to select the most profitable ones each and every time.

Once the first round has completed, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that might have been won. Further, several versions of the game give the gambler an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which case another game is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
