Video Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at your house on your personal computer, through a net account. The rules are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to achieve the best assemblage of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a normal game of poker, minus the line of contact with other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and pushes the play button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and players will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the enthusiast has decided on which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards will be handed out if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

Generally, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can range from machine to machine, so that experienced players are agile enough to choose the most beneficial machine each instance.

As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that has been won. Additionally, a few versions of the game allow the bettor an opportunity to double their wins, in which situation another round is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
