Video Poker is a beloved game that is able to be bet on in casinos throughout the globe, or in your house on your PC, using an Internet connection. The regulations are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the highest mixture of cards possible in order to come away with money. On this account it is very similar as a normal game of poker, minus the involvement with competing players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker starts when the player inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘dealt’ on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the gambler has decided on which cards he would like to keep, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are given out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.

Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful bettors are agile enough to pick the most money-making machine each instance.

Once the first round has finished, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that might have been won. Further, a few versions of the game allow the player a chance to double their winnings, in which case another hand is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
